April Lab

This is a a monthly event where you get to:

  • learn and share skills, insights and experiences in many things having to do with your rope practice

  • practice your ties in a casual environment

  • come solo or without partner(s)

  • meet potential tying partners

All styles and skill-level of rope practice are welcome! Each month we hope to have a different facilitator who is familiar with the community and the scene to help you get situated and comfortble

  • This includes self-tiers and partnered practitioners.

  • For uplines/suspension, bring your own hardware/hardpoint if you prefer something other than bamboo.

  • No worries if you don’t have rope. We have spare rope at the studio to borrow for non-loadbearing ties. (And someone might lend you their rope).

  • If you don’t have a partner, it’s ok! There just might be another solo person who’s looking for a partner.

Each month, we will have a different facilitator who is familiar with the community to help you get situated and comfortable.

    May 27: TBD

About April’s facilitators:

MysticScholar (he/him) entered the public scene in early 2012. Since that time, he has taught both locally in the DC area, as well as various national events, both for rope bondage, partnered acrobatics, grappling, and on topics of consent & negotiations. He has a passion for sharing his knowledge with others, and as a self-described “reaction junkie”, he enjoys other’s reactions as they explore learning new concepts.

Jules -or- shebaribae (on socials) uses she/her pronouns and has been exploring rope/kink since 2016. For the past 7 years, Jules has been in a consistent tying partnership as a bottom with MysticScholar. She has had the opportunity to be a co-presenter at many national kink conventions over the years, is passionate about bottom education, encouraging active bottoming, body awareness and communication in rope. In her personal play she enjoys a sadomasochistic style of rope, heavy compression ties, and dynamic transitions. When not in rope you may also see her on the receiving end of some impact, rough body play, on the underside of a heavy boot, and switching for sharps play.
