Gote Essentials with Odys, Paige and Brina

The Gote Essentials workshop is devoted to studying the most fundamental tie in the Japanese rope bondage style: hands tied behind the back. We will also study other building blocks for Naka style shibari and introduce the concept of semenawa progressive experience with a few basic floor and partial suspension ties. We will teach the secrets for a sustainable iconic 2-rope Nakastyle TK/Gote: shoulder lock, placement, and tension.

Due to the small size of the workshop, we will have the opportunity to work with each couple on adapting the gote to their bottom’s body. Building on techniques we have covered in the Prep 1 and 2 workshops, participants will gain knowledge and skills in:

  • first and second rope of the gote

  • split-cuff modification that allows less flexible people in ropes to experience gote Shibari

  • unique aspects of tying Naka style gote (flow/progression)

  • futomomo

  • calf & thigh binders

  • Naka hip-line

  • monoblock (booty basket)

  • safety considerations for gote and partial suspensions

  • body mechanics (shoulder lock, arms/hands placement)

  • progressive use of the elements as an introduction to Naka style semenawa experience

  • Naka style hip line (time permitting)

    • The Prep 1/2, or equivalent knowledge; if you are unsure if you meet the prerequisites, please reach out to us via email.

    • A full kit (12) of 7-8 meter ropes.

    • There will be an hour lunch break.

    • If you are new to the studio, please fill out this vetting form here. Vetting is required for all attendees.

    • $350 per pair + processing fee = Total $360.76

    • If the event is full, please send us an email to be added to the waiting list.

Presenters: Odys, Paige, and Brina

Odys

Odys is kinbaku artist and educator who discovered the beauty of rope bondage nine years ago, and has been deeply dedicated to it ever since. Initially inspired by the traditional Japanese style bondage, he has attended workshops with many world class presenters to find his path. He is the creator of KinbakuOdyssey studio and a direct student of Akira Naka sensei.

To Odys, kinbaku is a connective journey expressed through emotional transitions, evoked by progressive torment and power exchange. Each rope represents the catch and release of control. With each rope, he takes his partners on a journey of self discovery, exposing what they secretly crave. His unique expression of sensually erotic semenawa evokes sensations of pleasure and pain, ultimately pushing his partners to reveal their inner feelings and emotions to him.

Paige

Paige is a rope bottom who discovered a love for bondage early on in her kink journey. After meeting Odys at the beginning of 2022, she began exploring rope suspension, finding new ways to challenge herself and connect with her partner. She became enchanted by the emotional depth and physical torment of kinbaku, valuing the importance of tying with intention while mitigating safety risks.

She has assisted Odys with many lessons and workshops, has attended a workshop with KinbakuLuxuria and studied with Naka Akira in Tokyo to deepen her understanding of Naka style rope bondage.

Brina (she/her)

Brina is a fun-loving adventure seeker who never takes life too seriously. She identifies as an evolving masochist who has been exploring rope bondage for about 5 years and has a sweet spot for semenawa. While the majority of her experience has been as a bottom, she also enjoys playing as a rope top. Her favorite thing about kinbaku is the intimate connection that is formed through the top and bottom, as well as the full mind-body awareness that results from the experience.
