August Rope Performance and Jam

This month, we are hosting Brooklyn and Hatman Jack for their workshop so we are also having a jam where they are performing! Tickets went out first to those who are taking the workshop, so don’t miss out when the tickets are released on Saturday July 25th!

After the performance, you are all welcome to Jam!
Be yourself and do rope, watch rope, or spend time with chilling with a no-pressure, no-judgment zone.

Attendance: Open to anyone who has already been vetted. There is no prerequisite of experience or skill level, just respect, open-mindedness and courtesy towards one another and the venue.

Get vetted here ! (This process can take 1-5 weeks)

About the Performers:

Hatman_Jack (he/him)

Hatman_Jack fell in love with rope as a means of emotional connection, vulnerability, exposure, pain, and rediscovering oneself. After years of flirtation with bondage, he began regularly suspension-bottoming in 2021, and shortly after that, he began tying others. When connecting with someone for rope, he strives to prioritize the person through consent and communication. He has demo-bottomed for classes at Ropecraft, Tethered Together, and DO Summer Camp, participated in rope bottoming roundtables in Durham, performed at Kakumei Kan Studio in Finland, and teaches beginner rope through Kink Practice in NC. When not doing rope, he loves nature, gardening, board games and ttrpgs, cooking, and circus arts.

Brooklyn (they/them)

Brooklyn is a Chicago-based rope switch and educator with experience on both the top and bottom sides of the slash. Their work focuses on the intersection of emotions, technical proficiency, and aesthetics. This curiosity has driven them to seek ongoing formal education, studying with a variety of teachers across Europe and the United States, primarily in Naka-inspired semenawa.

They aim to offer high-quality instruction on the functional aspects of rope while encouraging students to explore the deeper emotional and psychological motivations behind their practice. Their teaching approach blends technical precision with personal exploration, inspiring students to remain curious and approach rope in a more individualistic way. Brooklyn teaches private lessons at home and also has offered classes at Sakura Studios, the Tying Masc Bodies conference, and Tethered Together.
