This is a monthly event where the first hour is either a Mixer, a Musings or a Munch, and the remaining time is open tie.
From 7-8pm, we’ll hold a social, roundtable, or lightly guided community conversation. Some weeks may center around a specific topic, while others will be more open, offering space to connect and engage with others in the room. Participation is always optional, and you’re welcome to engage in whatever way feels comfortable
From 8-10pm, the space transitions into open tie.
Open tie is not a facilitated lab. There will be no formal instruction or structured practice, but the space will be available for you to tie, learn with friends, explore, or play with partners in a shared environment.
Whether you come for conversation, connection, rope, all three, Midweek Meetup is meant to be a flexible and welcoming anchor for the community.
This month, we will have a Mixer where you will get to practice negotiation for rope scenes with others in a low-risk environment.
Do you feel comfortable negotiating a scene with someone new? Do you know how to ask for something or decline something? How upfront are you during a negotiation? Not to worry, we’ll help you with it too!
At this Mixer, you’ll be able to identify yourself and others as a top, bottom or switch and whether you are open to tying at the event or not. We encourage everyone to socialize, get to know one another, form connections, and potentially meet tying partners.
During this event, you can:
observe and/or socialize with others in their rope practice
learn and share skills, insights and experiences in many things having to do with your rope practice
practice your ties in a casual environment
play
come solo or without partner(s)
meet potential tying partners
All styles and skill-level of rope practice are welcome!
This includes self-tiers and partnered practitioners.
For uplines/suspension, bring your own hardware/hardpoint if you prefer something other than bamboo.
No worries if you don’t have rope. We have spare rope at the studio to borrow for non-loadbearing ties. (and someone might lend you their rope).
If you don’t have a partner, it’s ok! Make friends, connect with others. There just might be another solo person who’s looking for a partner.
